PA12 Standard is manufactured with the process MJF and is the material that our customers very often turn to. The reason is that it is suitable for most applications and is excellent for functional prototypes, design models and series production. In addition, it is often better priced than PA12 made with SLS. Without finishing, PA12 Standard is a grainy grey but it can be dyed either black or anthracite grey. This dyeing makes the details look very nice and gives a professional and finished look. Compared to white SLS-manufactured PA12 which is dyed black, scratches in MJF-made PA12 will be black instead of white, which means that they are not as visible at all. If a more shiny surface is desired, we offer PA12 Smooth, which is available in black or anthracite gray. PA12 can be manufactured with both the MJF and SLS processes and it is not always obvious which one to choose, we will try to clarify this in the article about What is the difference between SLS and MJF?.
