Nylon PA11 is a bio-based plastic that has higher elasticity and impact resistance than PA12. For applications where there is a strong focus on reducing environmental impact, reducing waste and using plastic from vegetable raw materials, PA11 is the right choice. PA11 is suitable for the environmentally conscious in small-lot manufacturing, contract manufacturing and series production. The material is grainy dark gray, which when colored in black or anthracite gray gives a nice appearance and a more durable surface. In terms of price and compared to PA12, PA11 is a little more expensive. If higher temperature resistance and higher stiffness are desired, PA12 may be the next material to look at.
